Ladybarn and Withington
I've lived in South Manchester for more than 30 years now. Including on Derby Road - though the house has had its number changed now! I used to organise Rag Week events round all the local pubs.
I started City Life Magazine, worked for the Council on Jobs Equality, raised funds and organised training for dozens of arts enterprises, put on concerts and was the CEO of an arts charity for almost ten years. I now work freelance doing Social Research for a world famous company and I'm looking for some part time paid and voluntary work in the Ladybarn and Withington area. If you've any ideas or need any help please give me a ring or a text, drop me an email or tweet me.
I've been chosen by the local residents' Labour Party to be their community champion for 2010-11. I am also one of the Co-Op Party's panel of candidates and will stand in the election as Labour Co-Op - hopefully with our logo this time!
Very much enjoyed Summer Fusion recently and was there for almost the whole afternoon. The picture shows myself, Deputy Council leader Jim Battle and a Tanzanian Coffee "Fair Trade" grower at the Make Poverty History march in Edinburgh a few years ago.
